I think about things a lot. Too much. Really, I’ve been told by numerous people that I contemplate things far too deeply. Like Saturday, my hairdresser laughed as I was discussing what it is, exactly, I want to do with the years to come — as dedicated as I am to graphic design, there are a ton of other things I’d love to try my hand at. Anyways, I’m getting sidetracked, as usual. Due to the excessive thinking I do, I have a lot of observations and musings to spare. Bridging the gap between those thoughts and my creative work is a new self-initiated project I’m calling Spare Change. (Of course, being such a huge logo/brand design fan, I had to give the project some sort of marketable name. Maybe I’ll develop a logo soon.)
The goal of this project is to produce an illustration paired with some sort of observation or idea that strikes me during my daily adventures. I hope to make this fairly regular, aiming to post every week day. Things won’t always be brilliant, but that’s kind of the point: exercise isn’t pretty — sometimes you just have to fight through the shite to get to the good stuff.
